Alice Churchill of Accord passed away in Kingston, NY on October 15, 2025. She was 82 years old.
Born in New York City and raised in Kerhonkson, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Brown. In high school, Alice met the love of her life, the late Donald Churchill. They married on March 20, 1966 and raised their family with unconditional love and support. She worked as a bank teller for Ellenville Savings Bank for many years before retiring from the Rondout Valley School District. In between, she was a bus driver with George Schwab for the District.
Alice loved reading books, nature, and her family. Above all, she loved her grandkids. She was their biggest teacher of the world, taking the on field trips from the day they were born; Bronx Zoo, Olana, museums, Catskill Game Farm, you name it Alice took them.
Alice's second love was God and her Church. The Federated Church of Kerhonkson was her second family. You could always find her there in the office working on bills, in the kitchen helping with a dinner, or at Vacation Bible School making meals for all the children.
Alice is survived by her son, Guy Churchill of Ellenville; daughter, Corrie Wolfeil and partner Russell Macek of Saugerties; Beth Churchill; Todd Wolfeil; Grandchildren: Jacob Churchill, Catherine Wolfeil, and Daniel Wolfeil; sister-in-law, Elena Churchill; brother-in-law, Russell Gray; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Ruth P. Cina; and brothers, Richard Brown and Edward Brown.
The family would like to thank KAFAS and Dr. Stopple at Health Alliance Hospital.
Visitation will be held at The Federated Church of Kerhonkson, 35 42nd St., on Friday, October 24 from 3-5 PM.
