He grew up in Queens and later moved to Washingtonville, where he graduated from Washingtonville HS in 1971. When he was a child, he learned to play the accordion. He was always going on adventures with his childhood friends in Queens. He served in the Army from 71-75 and was granted an honorable discharge. He met his wife in 1979 while working at Playtogs in Middletown and where both were attending classes at OCCC. They both knew, almost from the start, that they were going to spend a lifetime together. They got married in April of 1981 and moved to Wind Gap, PA for 3 yrs with their 2 sons, Andre and Jason. They then moved to Greenwood, CA for 17yrs. His career started out in Computer operations/programming, but construction was his calling. He was a union plumber for 25 yrs with UA Local 38 out of San Francisco and UA Local 447 out of Sacramento, where he worked on some major projects like Sacramento Airport and the SF Giants Stadium. After living in CA for 30 yrs, his wife moved back to NY in 2017, to set up a home and he joined her in 2018 to retire when he finished working on a job in Reno. He loved doing projects around their home and planned on doing some traveling. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his oldest son, Andre Jr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dawn (Stephens); sons, Jason (Marit) and Daniel, both from CA; his fur baby, Gabbie; sisters, Monique (Paul) and Joelle; grandchildren, Mia, Madelyn, Meagan, and Christopher; brothers-in-law, Steve Stephens (Stacey), Dave Stephens(Patty), Tim Stephens, and Dan Stephens; and many, many nieces and nephews.
