Audrey J. Smith of Ellenville, NY, passed away on January 24th 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. She was 85 years old. Audrey was born on February 27, 1932 in Ellenville; she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Alice (Degolia) Smith.

 

Audrey had worked at Imperial Schrade for many years. She was a life member of the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad and a lifelong resident of the area. Audrey had a passion for fishing and was often seen fishing in the Rondout Creek. She loved her pet parrots and her chow dog as if they were her children. Audrey was a very kind and generous person and always willing to help someone in need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Audrey is survived by her children, Judith Corey-Atkinson of Jacksonville, FL, Cindy DePuy and her companion Robert Hull of Ellenville, Richard Rothberg and his wife Denise of Kerhonkson and Dale Rothberg and his companion James Dietrich of AZ; her brother, Robert Smith and his wife Andrea of Wawarsing; four grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Audrey was predeceased by three grandchildren, Sereana Redner, Danielle Rothberg and Jeremy Corey.

 

Audrey will be laid to rest next to her parents in Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson. A graveside service will be held in the spring.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Audrey’s name to the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad or to your local animal shelter.
