Catherine G. McCarthy

Catherine G. McCarthy of Ellenville, NY, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Kingston City Hospital. She was 85 years old. Catherine was born on October 12, 1926 in Napanoch, NY; she was the daughter of James and Lulu (Gosselin) Taylor and the widow of Kenneth C. McCarthy Sr.
Catherine had worked at the Ellenville Hospital as a Dietary Cook for over 18 years. Prior to this she worked at Channel Master. She enjoyed bowling and was a certified bowling instructor. Catherine loved playing BINGO and was an avid Mets fan. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, Catherine was predeceased by her son Albert McCarthy and her son-in-law Martin Warner.
Mrs. McCarthy is survived by her children Kenneth C. McCarthy Jr. and his wife Judith of Kerhonkson, Jo Anne Warner of Napanoch and Merry Lynn Murry and her husband James of Como, MS. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Visiting will be held on Monday, March 19th from 6-9 pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St. Kerhonkson. A Celebration of her life is scheduled for Tuesday 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Catherine's name to the American Heart Association, 229 Manchester Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
