Catherine Truppi Schults

Catherine Truppi Schults of Kerhonkson, NY, 65, died on Friday June 23, 2023.

Catherine was born in Teaneck, NJ on July 1, 1957 to Angelo and Joan (Vasquez) Truppi. She married the love of her life, Joseph Schults, and lived in their home in Kerhonkson for 40 years, where she loved and raised her five children. Her kids and grandkids were her world; she talked of all of them constantly with pure love and admiration. 

Cathy passionately advocated for wildlife protection, fought for animal rights, and was an intensely dedicated environmentalist. She loved her cat and three rescue dogs. She was an avid bird watcher, who spent hours on her porch on warm days listening to songbirds and admiring her hummingbird feeder. 

She also loved watching good television- never missing an episode of General Hospital for 45 years- and spending nights watching films and tv with her family. 

Cathy was an intensely caring person who always gave everything she had. She would frantically put everything aside to talk to the people she loved. She was a brave and loving woman who will be missed by all. 

Catherine is survived by her husband Joseph, her five children: Carol Apollo Kennedy, Leon Wisneski, Charlie Wisneski, Natalie Schults, and Francine Schults, and her six grandchildren: Dominick Kennedy, Daniel Kennedy, Olivia Wisneski, Elliot Wisneski, Natalia Wisneski, and Joey Wisneski. 

Memorial visitation for family and friends will be held at Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 2-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Catherine’s name to the Ulster County ASPCA.
