Charles S. MacDonald II of Kerhonkson, NY passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011. He was 62 years old. Charles was born on December 14, 1948 in Dover, NH the son of the late Charles S. and Anna (Porter) MacDonald.
Charles and his wife of 40 years, Teresa (DeGrote), were married on February 13, 1971. Together they have been Kerhonkson residents for 36 years. Charles was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and was honorable discharged Lance Corporal in 1970 and was a life member of the Ulster Detachment Marine Corp League. He worked as a welder for Steel Style in Newburgh for many years. Charles always enjoyed fishing and he was very involved in reestablishing Toy for Tots in the Kerhonkson area.
Charles is survived by his wife, Teresa. His sons; Charles S. III and his wife Theresa of Dunedin, FL, Pierce S. and his wife Raquel of Sumter, SC, Brian G. and his wife Lynn of Fairfield, CA, and Lance A. of Fredericksburg, VA. His daughter, Carolyn Nelson and her husband David of Kerhonkson, NY. His sisters; Elizabeth, Eleanor, Roberta, Samantha and Faith. 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Charles was pre-deceased by his parents, his three brothers and his sister.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, July 6th from 6-9pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Thursday the 7th 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Charles' name to the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad, PO Box 67, Kerhonkson, NY 12446 and/or the United States Wounded Soldiers Foundation, 11700 Preston Rd. Ste 660, PMB 135, Dallas, TX 75230.
