Clara Jane Wise

Clara Jane Wise, 99 of Fort Myers, Florida, a long time resident of Accord (Liebhardt), NY, died at home on August 25, 2015.  Clara was born on August 22, 1916 in Bronx, NY to James W. and Ruth Smith Lucas.  Clara celebrated her 52nd wedding anniversary with Donald N. Wise on November 1991. 

Survivors include her daughters Elizabeth Jane Dawson of LaBelle, FL and Joan (Tom) Hornung of Fort Myers, FL, grandchildren; Donald N. (Michele) Wise III, Sherri (Warner)Keesler both of Kingston, D’Arcy (Jose) Castro of Menifee, CA, Vanessa Ellsworth of Rochester, NY, David Ellsworth of Chicago, IL, and Craig Hornung of Kingston.  Also included are great grandchildren; Kyle and Stephan Wise, Isabella and Ethan Keesler, and Damian Castro, as well as many nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law of 76 years Dorothy Brownlie of Stone Ridge, NY.

Besides her parents, Clara is predeceased by her husband, her brothers; Leonard, James, and William Lucas, her sister Ruth Lucas, her son Donald N. Wise Jr., and her daughter-in-law Barbara Weinstein Wise. 

A graveside service will be held Saturday October 3rd 11am at Pine Bush Cemetery in Kerhonkson, NY.  Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate.  The family requests memorial donations be made in Clara’s name to the Special Olympics, 1133 19th St, NW, 12th floor, Washington, DC 20036.
