Donald Mesceda of Kerhonkson, NY died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 74. Mr. Mesceda was born on September 20, 1933 in Ellenville, NY the son of James “Jake and Josephine (Jurista) Mesceda



Donald was a veteran of the United States Air force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Woolworth’s in Ellenville and Middletown as a Stock Room Manager for many years. He and his long time companion Carol Murgolo owned the Stockade Pizzeria in Kerhonkson for 15 years. Mr. Mesceda was an avid hunter. He enjoyed going for long walks in the woods, gardening and going to the Monticello Raceway and OTB.



In addition to his companion Carol and his mother Josephine both of Kerhonkson, Donald is survived by his children Donna Gray (Harm Miedema) of Kerhonkson, Carolyn Mesceda (Donald North) of Accord, David Mesceda (Heather) of Kerhonkson and Valerie Mesceda-Grajewski (Henry) of Kerhonkson, his brother James Mesceda of Delaware, his sisters Jeanette Bazinet of Kerhonkson and Madeline Ray of South Carolina, 15 grandchildren; Heather, Kyle and Alisha Pugliese, Paul, Jr., Mariah and Hannah Gray, Jacob and Devon North, Bailey and Landen Mesceda, Robert and Tanner Grajewski, Joshua and Nikki Chaney and Christy Giobi, 5 great-grandchildren Kevin Startup, Kylee and Gavyn Pugliese, Joshua Jr. and Treasure Chaney, his beloved cat Lover Boy his dog Gambler and many nieces, nephews and friends.


Visiting will be held on Tuesday, August 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at HB Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 13th at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery.
