Edith Mae Fischer

Edith Mae Fischer, 87, of Greenfield Park, NY entered into eternal rest on Thursday May 19th, 2016. She was born on April 12, 1929 in Woodbury, CT; daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth (Laird) Perrault.

Edith is survived by her devoted husband Gus, her children; Katherine Alvaro, Gail Fischer, Carol Persell, Kenny Persell, David Persell, and her grandchildren; Daniel Persell and his wife Allison, Angela Knowles and several other grandchildren, in addition to her several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her four siblings; Doug Perro, Bill Perrault, Arlene Coddington, and Richard Perrault.  She was predeceased by her siblings; Gertrude Bethel, Alfred Perrault, Jimmy Perrault, and Barbara Hasbrouck.

Edith, a lifelong resident of the area, married her beloved husband Augustus Fischer and lived in Greenfield Park together for over 40 years. Throughout her life, Edith was a homemaker dedicated to her ever-growing family. She enjoyed having yard sales, hiking, bird watching, loved to read mystery novels, do puzzles, and tending to her garden. She loved her family dearly, and will be missed by all. 

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 22nd from 5-8 p.m. at HB Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Monday, May 23rd at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Accord Rural Cemetery, Accord, NY.
