Elaine R. Irwin, age 72, of Accord, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend, passed away peacefully at The Grand in Poughkeepsie, on July 26, 2026. Born on October 19, 1953, in Ellenville, New York, Elaine was the beloved daughter of Roy and Kathryn Miller. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Elaine was a proud graduate of Roundout High School, where her passion for learning and community involvement began. Her career at Rolling V Bus Corp in Ellenville, NY, spanned several decades, where she was not only a dedicated employee but also a cherished colleague and friend to many. Elaine's warmth and kindness extended beyond her work, as she was a past member of the Accord Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary, demonstrating her commitment to serving others.

In 1972, Elaine married the love of her life, Henry Irwin. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. The couple's love story was an inspiration to all who knew them, and their bond remained unbreakable even after Henry's passing.

Elaine was a loving and devoted mother to her four surviving children: Faith Bealty (Barry), Hope Irwin (Shawn), Kirk Irwin Sr. (Lisa), and Charity Irwin. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in nurturing her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought a special light to her life.

Elaine was a passionate reader, finding solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. She was also a dedicated sports fan, cheering enthusiastically for her favorite teams, the New York Mets and the New York Jets. Elaine's joyful spirit and infectious enthusiasm were felt by all who watched a game with her.

Elaine's life was marked by love and connection, and she was deeply loved by her surviving siblings, Edna Plumstead (Steve), Lisa Miller, and Roy Miller Jr. She was also a beloved godmother to Nick Plumstead and cherished her many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Elaine was predeceased by her husband Henry Irwin, her parents Roy and Kathryn Miller, and her brother Eddie Miller. Though they are no longer with us, their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved them.

Elaine's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew her. Her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad or Accord Fire Company #2 in Elaine's memory.
