Evelyn Ruth Johnsen 89, of Accord died on Sunday, May 20, 2012. Evelyn was born on March 5, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY; she was the daughter of Al and Emmy (Samualsen) Sather and the widow of Haywood Johnsen who died in April 2001.
Evelyn lived in the area for over sixty years and worked at Benedictine Hospital as assistant to the Pharmacist. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and she loved to read.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Diane Cooke and her sons, Robert and William Johnsen. Her grandchildren; Don Whittaker, Fred Whittaker, Lori Shah, Lynn Summer Field, Anike Sanchez, Ashleigh Barek, Michael Johnsen, Robert Johnsen Jr, and Marc Johnsen. Several great grandchildren, her great great grandson and her brother John Borgenson.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, May 24th from 10-11am at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of her life will immediately follow beginning at 11am at the funeral home.
