Florence C. Lennon

Florence C. Lennon of Wawarsing, NY died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Health Alliance, Broadway Campus. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Lennon was born in Shokan, NY on October 24, 1927; she was the daughter of Mitchell and Leona (Beesimer) Avery.

Mrs. Lennon was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association, the Shawangunk Seniors and the Accord-Kerhonkson Golden Age Seniors. She enjoyed BINGO, bowling and working in her flower gardens.

Florence is survived by her children (whom she lovingly referred to as her gems) Gilbert T. Lennon Jr., David A. Lennon and his wife Robin, Daniel Lennon and his wife Valetta, Patricia A. Gosselin and her husband Dennis, Katherine A. Lennon and her fiancé Vaughn Cannon and Meredith Pomeroy and her husband James, her brothers Gilbert, James, Larry and Robert Avery, her sisters Rosie Rider, Shirley Lyons and Virginia Gray, 12 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

Florence was predeceased by her husband Gilbert T. Lennon Sr., her sons James, Jeffrey and Donald, her brothers Bill and Mike Avery and her sister Anna Salmi.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, May 11th from 5-8 PM at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson.  Inurnment will be private.

Contributions may be made in Florence’s name to the American Caner Society or the American Heart Association.
