Frank Lewis

Frank E. Lewis, 87 of Kerhonkson, NY passed away peacefully at home on August 19, surrounded by his loved ones and under the compassionate care of Hudson Valley Hospice, after a courageous battle with dementia and lung cancer.

Frank was born on May 7, 1938 to Roy and Virginia Lewis in Elmira, NY. Frank moved to Ellenville, NY at the age of 4. After graduating from Ellenville High School in 1956 he worked for Bill Ekert painting houses. In 1957 he met the love of his life, Patricia Brunelle and they married in 1958. In 1964 Frank went to work for Local 17 Laborers Union until his retirement in 1995.

Frank had a love for classic cars and took great pride in showcasing his 1950 Chevy Deluxe at local car shows, and bringing home the trophies. He also enjoyed bowling in his younger years, playing golf, and was a devoted fan of the NY Mets and NY Giants. Outside of sports and cars Frank found joy in maintaining his yard, keeping it looking immaculate.

Frank's love for his pets was unmatched. He devoted countless hours to their care, showering them with affection and treating each one as a member of the family. His unwavering devotion reflected the compassion and kindness he carried in every part of his life.

Frank is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Gary (Maritza), Highland, NY, Chris (Michelle), York, PA, Michael (Jacyln) Wawarsing, NY, Susan (Wayne) Gray, Kerhonkson, NY; 10 grandkids; 14 great-grandkids; 1 great-great-grandson and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank was pre-deceased by his parents; two brothers; and his son, Frank.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hudson Valley Hospice and Accord/Kerhonkson First Aid & Rescue.

Visitation will be held at Humiston Funeral Home on Monday, August 25 from 4 - 7 PM with family eulogies beginning at 6:30. A graveside service will take place at Palentown Cemetery on Tuesday, August 26 at 10:30 AM.
