Harold R. Bollin, 88, of Rhinebeck, NY died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Kingston Hospital. He was born on January 13, 1924, in Ellenville, NY, the son of the late Ralph and Mary Ethel Bennett Bollin.
Harold was a proud Army veteran having served actively during WW II from 1943-1946. Of his many accomplishments in service to his country, he received a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation, and a Purple Heart. He graduated from the University of Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and worked most of his professional career with the NYS Dept. of Transportation.
He is survived by his daughter Scherry Smith (her late husband Daniel) of Port Ewen, NY; his sons Bruce Bollin and his wife Debra of Winslow, AR; Clark "Dennis" Bollin and his wife Bridget of Kingston, NY; and David B. Bollin of Fayetteville, AR. Harold was predeceased by his 2 sons Kirk and Shawn. He is also survived by his sister Virginia Green (her late husband Hank) of Napanoch, NY and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Pine Bush Cemetery in Kerhonkson, NY on Tuesday, July 31 at 1PM.
