James Horvath, Sr., 82, of Wawarsing, NY passed away in the comfort of his daughters home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. James was born on December 27, 1932 in Brownsville, PA; he was the son of Nick and Mary (Nagy) Horvath.
Mr. Horvath served in US Army during the Korean Conflict. He earned the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged in 1955. James worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Wawarsing for many years. He enjoyed going on leisurely drives and visiting the local diners along the way.
James is survived by his children, Crystal Bruce of VT, Deborah Baul and her husband Howard of Kerhonkson, Richard Horvath and his wife Angel of Wawarsing and Kathleen Horvath of Tillson; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son James Horvath Jr., his brothers, Nick, Joe, Pete, John, Paul, George, Robert and Frank and his sisters, Mary, Margaret and Elizabeth.
Cremation will be private.
Arrangements are under the guidance of HB Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson.
