James A. Hughes

James A. Hughes of Kerhonkson went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2025. He was 80 years old.

Jimmy, JC as he was affectionately known, was born in Teaneck, NJ and raised by his loving parents Robert G. Hughes Sr. and Mary D. Oddy- Hughes.

Jimmy served in the United States Army and was on a combat tour in Vietnam, from 1968-1969. He was Honorably discharged in 1972.

JC had many hobbies and interests ranging from music, woodworking, computer graphics and automotive. He especially enjoyed his involvement with The Skulls hot rod club which he founded in 2005.

Jimmy also loved to be around all of his nieces and nephews as they grew up, followed by many great nieces and nephews. All would have a story to tell of Uncle Jimmy.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents. As well as by his brothers Robert G. Hughes and Daniel T. Hughes. Surviving him are his sister Marjorie O'Malley (Mike) of Hawley, PA, nieces Terri Stoll and Laurie Muscari, great niece Taylor, great nephews Andrew, Michael, and Dylan. His sister Judy Hasbrouck (Gus) of Kerhonkson, nephew Richie (Karen) Eisinger, niece Donna (Mike) O'Connell, great niece Shelby and great nephews Aidan and Brennan. His sister-in-law Ann Hughes of Hammonton, NJ, nephews Bobby and Brian Hughes, nieces Tina Guzman, Dawn Santora and Vicki Lyn White. As well as many other great nieces and nephews. Also, his friend Howard, who kept him company often this past year and a half.

Visitation will be held at Humiston Funeral Home on Sunday, June 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a service following at 3 PM by pastor Naiam Mohamed of Lomontville Assembly of God. Military honors for Jimmy will be held at 3pm prior to funeral services by pastor Naiam.
