James J. Quick of Samsonville passed away on May 12, 2025. He was 91 years old.
He was born in Liebhardt on March 30, 1934 to Mary and Chester Quick, Sr.
Jimmy was employed for many years at Tonche Association at Pitcairn Mountain, until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, making maple syrup, woodworking and carpentry, and spending time with his family. He was an active life member of the Olive Fire Department for 65 years. Forty of those years serving as 44-4 Assistant Chief for Olive Fire Company4 of Samsonville. He also served as the assessor for the Town of Olive. He also served his country in the Army as a combat engineer.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Lori (Gary) Zelinsky, Denise (Robert) Barringer, and son, Ronald (Gale) Quick all of Olivebridge. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughters: Stephanie (Jeremy) Lanier, Whitney Santillo, and Caitlin (Tommy) O'Brien; his beloved great-grandchildren: Cody Mirto, Brianna, Waylon, and Casey O'Brien, Rylee, Bailee, and Natalee Santillo; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Quick; and his brothers, Chester Quick, Jr., Howard Quick, Stanley Quick, and Clarence Quick.

Visitation will be held at Humiston Funeral Home on Friday, May 16 from 4 - 7 PM. A service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, May 17 at 10 AM followed by burial at Palentown Cemetery.
