John "Jack" Blanschan

John “Jack” Blanschan, of Accord, NY passed away in the comfort of his home on December 12, 2014. He was 80 years old. Jack was born on August 14, 1934 in Kingston, NY; he was the son of the late Kenneth and Helen (Duffner) Blanschan.

Jack was a retired plumber having worked for 35 years for the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jack was also a history buff who enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts.

Mr. Blanschan was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor “Eley” Blanschan in 2011 as well as his brother Kenneth Blanschan.

He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Blanschan of New Paltz; his son, Joseph P. Blanschan and his wife Cindy of Accord; his grandson, Joseph S. Blanschan of PA; his granddaughter, Jessica Coddington of Accord; his brothers, Peter Blanschan and his wife Marlene of St. Remy, Jake and Manny Blanschan; his sisters, Susie Blanschan and Wendy Coleman and his sister-in-law, Helen Blanschan.

As per John’s wishes there will be no services and cremation will be private and at the convenience of his family.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jack’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
