Louise Bernard, aged 99, passed away on August 31, 2026 at the home of her daughter, Jacqueline. Louse passed peacefully, with her daughter; her son, Marcel and his partner, Janice; and our best friend, Jack by her side.

Mom was born and raised in Brittany, France where she survived the World War II Nazi occupation. She married our father, Louis, after the War. Shortly after, she came to the United States where she was employed as a nanny. She enjoyed knotting, crocheting, and completed many cross-stitch and needlepoint works, of which she was very proud.

Mom was always there with a helping hand. She would drop everything if you needed help. She was instantly loved by anyone who met her.

Louise is survived by her daughter and son; two sisters, Josephine and Sidonie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will take place in New York City at a later date followed by the burial of cremated remains in France.
