Maurice L. Mondesir, 83, of Accord, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 20, 2026.

Maurice was born in Carbet, Martinique and grew up with one brother and three sisters. He moved to New York as a teen in the early 60s. He served 2 years in the US Army and later entered a career with the US Postal Service. He met his wife Marie in NY and they married in 1969.

He loved working on cars, hunting, fishing, taking long drives, and listening to music. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, and his children, Maurice, Leandre, Yvonnette, and Sylvianne. He also leaves eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Humiston Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28 from 9-11 AM. A Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on the same day at 11:30 AM, followed by burial with military honors at Pine Bush Cemetery.
