Michael Leszczynski

June 1, 1975 — June 13, 2025

Accord, NY

Michael Leszczynski, 50, of Accord passed away surrounded by his loving family at Vassar Hospital June 13, 2025, after complications due to cardiac arrest.

Michael attended Pecora Day Program in Kingston. In early childhood Michael attended the Marbletown School and then the Brookside School until the age of 21. Michael met Rosemary at Marbletown School at the age of 6. Soon after, she and her husband, Hugh opened their hearts and home welcoming Michael into their family where he lived with them for 42 years.

Michael LOVED people. He often wanted to hug, kiss, or shake hands with everybody he came in contact with. Michael enjoyed going out to eat, (chicken parm being one of his favorite dishes.) He loved going to church on Sundays. Michael often liked sitting on the deck listening to music, and watching TV in his Lazy-boy recliner while playing with his clocks and fans. But most of all Michael loved being with his large family. There he would playfully joke with his brothers, sister, nieces and nephews. Michael would always try to find a way to make us laugh by taking someone’s glasses, or hat and putting them on. He always made sure to have the best seat at the table to listen to all the family banter.

Michael is survived by his family: Hugh and Rosemary Cummings of Accord; his siblings, Joe Perez and his wife Kristin of Stone Ridge, Ralph Perez of Highland, John Perez of Michigan, Hugh Cummings and his wife Rachel of Stone Ridge, and Jillian Coddington and her husband Lavoid of Stone Ridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Kaitlin Locke, Erica Perez, Jason Perez, Charlotte Perez, Tristram Perez, Madison Coddington, L J Coddington, Hugh Cummings, Adrian Cummings; and a great nephew and niece, Joey and Peyton.

Michael's contagious laugh and smile will be forever missed.

There will be a celebration of life and luncheon on Saturday August 9, 2025 between 12:00 and 6:00 at Tongore Park in Stone Ridge.

In memory of Michael the family is accepting donations for Brookside School’s new playground. They hope to raise enough money to put in an adaptive swing in his memory. http://www.arcmh.org/adaptive-playground/
