Nicholas F. Varrone

Nicholas F. Varrone of Flanders, NJ formerly of Accord, NY, died Saturday, September 1, 2012. He was 98 years old. Mr. Varrone was born on June 20, 1914 at the family home in Queens, he was the son of the late Angelo and Anastasia (Bello) Varrone.

On June 6, 1938 Nicholas had married Rafella Manella in St. Brigid's Church, Brookyn. His loving wife Rafella passed away in 1986.

Nicholas had lived in the area for over fifty years before recently moving to be closer to his family. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Kerhonkson and a member of the Accord Senior Citizens. Nicholas had worked on the rails for NYC Transit Authority for many years before becoming a System Maintainer and then retiring in 1969.

Mr. Varrone is survived by his son, Nicholas Varrone and his wife Elizabeth of Flanders, NJ. His grandchildren; Nicholas, Vincent, Steven, Dominic, Michael and Carolyn, and his great grandchildren; Christopher, Matthew, Anthony, Timothy, Jillian, Michael, Hanna, Gino, Richie, Victoria, Dominick, Daniel and Christopher and many nieces and nephews and loving family. In addition to his wife, Nicholas was predeceased by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barbara Varrone and his four siblings.

Visiting will be held Tuesday, September 4th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday the 5th at 10am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kerhonkson. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nicholas' name to the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad, PO Box 67, Kerhonkson, NY 12446.

So sorry for the loss of your loved one. My Brother William Dickey passed away September 13. He visited us often in Flanders N.J. What a coincidence that they were both here at Humiston.
