Randy L. Hornbeck

Randy L. Hornbeck, age 62, of Stone Ridge, NY, died on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Born on May 26, 1955 in Kingston, NY, he was the son of the late Roger S. Hoornbeek and Marlene M. (Winchell) Dunn.
 

Randy was a community oriented individual, always supporting local organizations and businesses. He was a Town Councilman in Rochester and had been a strong advocate for the Accord Fire Company during the establishment of their retirement program. Randy was a successful business owner over the years having been a real estate developer and establishing Hornbeck Trucking and Hornbeck Fuel. He loved working the family farm in Stone Ridge, riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR and was proud of earning his pilot’s license at the Ellenville Airport.

Besides his mother Marlene, Randy is survived by the love of his life, Laurie Hoornbeek. Also surviving are his sons; Randall S. Hornbeck and his wife Sarah of Stone Ridge and Brian J. Hoornbeek and his wife Sarah of Stone Ridge. His grandchildren; Travis, Ryan and Wyatt Hornbeck and Elizabeth Hoornbeek. His siblings; Roger (Rose) Hoornbeek, Valerie Friedlander, Troy (Jackie) Dunn, Sherry (Nick) Edson, Ronnie (Jodie) Dunn, Vinnie (Barbara) Dunn, Sue Gunther and Bruce Hoornbeek. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his dear friend Jim Slavin. Besides his father, Randy was pre-deceased by his step-father Vincent Dunn and his daughter-in-law Sandra Hornbeck.

Memorial visiting will be held on Wednesday, January 24th from 5-8 PM at Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of life service will begin that evening at 7:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Randy’s name to the Town of Rochester Community Center, Senior Citizens Group, PO Box 65, Accord, NY 12404 and/or to the Accord Fire District, PO Box 163, Accord, NY 12404.
