Raymond L. Barringer

February 11, 1928 — November 9, 2009

Raymond L. Barringer a life long resident of Kerhonkson, NY, died Monday, November 9, 2009. He was 81 years old. Raymond was born on February 11, 1928 in Samsonville, NY the son of Lou and Emma (Beesimer) Barringer.


 


On January 21, 1956 Raymond had married Frances Decker in Kerhonkson. Frances had predeceased him in January 2005.


 


Mr. Barringer was the owner/operator of Raymond Barringer Truck and Excavating for over 50 years and had R&R Sales & Service, the family snowmobile business for 25 years during that time. As a child he had delivered milk and ice locally and later had been a union carpenter and worked in the tunnels of the Rondout Reservoir. Raymond had been a member of the Kerhonkson Fire Company for 40 years and was very active in the 70’s.


 


Raymond is survived by his children; Robert Barringer and his wife Phyllis of Kripplebush, Ronnie Barringer and his wife Jaymee of Kerhonkson and Bonnie LeDoux and her husband David of Kerhonkson. His sisters; Hilda VanNostrand and Shirley Avery. His grandchildren; Jeremy Lanier, Thomas Vivona, Arron LeDoux, Amber and Tiffany Barringer and his great-grandchildren; Cody Mirto and Aniva LeDoux. Besides his wife Frances, Raymond was predeceased by his daughters Nancy Robinson and Joann Barringer, his sister Flossie, and his brothers Jimmy, Herby and George.

 



Visiting will be held Thursday, November 12th from 6-9pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson, NY. A Celebration of his life is scheduled for Friday the 13th at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson.
