Robert Louis Pomerantz, 78, passed away peacefully at home with family on May 9, 2026. Born on November 26, 1947 in the Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Edward and Thelma (Tobey) Pomerantz. Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who valued family above all else.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Faye Pomerantz; his daughter, Melissa Moore (Leon) of Brooklyn, NY; his son, Jason (Bridget) of Red Hook, NY; and his cherished grandchildren, Mary and Daniel Pomerantz. He is also survived by his siblings: Lorraine Kent, Allen Pomerantz (Mary), Iris Pomerantz, Glenn Pomerantz (Cindy), Robin Bissinger (Walt) and cousin/best friend Gary Pomerantz; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Robert proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force and was an award-winning marksman on the Tactical Air Command team. Following his military service, he built a career as a licensed electrician with the IBEW & Marist College earning the respect of colleagues and friends through his strong work ethic and dedication.
Deeply connected to his community, Robert was a founding member of the Wawarsing Historical Society and Knife Museum and an active member of the Kerhonkson Synagogue and Wawarsing Rod and Gun Club. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and fly fishing, passions that brought him peace and many treasured memories over the years.

Robert will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country and community, his quiet strength, and the lasting impact he had on all who knew him. In lieu of flowers you can donate to the Warwarsing Historical Society and Knife Museum. https://www.theknifemuseum.com
