Ronald J. Terwilliger

Ronald James Terwilliger, “Ron” of Kerhonkson, NY, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old. Ronald was born on October 26, 1935 in Kerhonkson; he was the son of the late Arthur and Emma (O’Neal) Terwilliger.

Ron began working at an early age running his own fruit stand. In 1956 he met love of his life Evelyn Miller. After a short time together they married and started a family of their own. He worked hard his entire life to be able to provide for his growing family. Ron worked at the Foordmore Farms Creamery, then Terwilliger Brothers and eventually retiring in 1990 after working for Suburban Propane for 25 years.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman and strong supporter of the NRA. He enjoyed vacationing in Maine, hunting and fishing, country music, snowmobiling, motorcycling, restoring and collecting old cars, but most of all sharing his passions with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife Evelyn who he shared 58 amazing years with, Ron is survived by their beautiful daughters, Veronica Rider (George), Kathy VanDemark (Barry), Sharon Pagliaroni-Mertine (David) and Loretta Terwilliger-Rider (Paul); his sisters, Diane Webb and Margaret Yeager; his brothers, Ronald Webb, Millard “Sonny” Terwilliger (Joyce), Douglas Terwilliger and William Best (Mary); his grandchildren, Bobbi Jo VanDemark, Ronald James Rider, Timothy Pagliaroni Jr., Rhonda Rider, Alida Palazzolo, Andrew Pagliaroni, Stephanie Decker, Arthur Decker Jr. and Brooke Rider; his great grandchildren, Domenic Palazzolo, Sophia Pagliaroni, Hunter Palazzolo and Cole VanGorder and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was predeceased by his sister Shirley Schnegelsberger, his brother Robert Yeager and his son-in-law Timothy Pagliaroni.

Visiting will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd from 3-8pm at HB Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. A celebration of his life is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Bush Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ron’s name to the NRA or the Alzheimer’s Association.
