Ryan M. Pommerencke

Ryan Matthew Pommerencke of Napanoch, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 11, 2020. He was 32 years old. Ryan was born on May 17, 1988 in Englewood, NJ; he was the son of Kenneth and Cynthia (Bowen) Pommerencke.


Ryan, fondly known to his friends as “Rencke” and “Gentle Giant” graduated from Rondout Valley High School – Class of 2007. He was an avid gamer, loved reading, watching movies, building models and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. Ryan had worked as a Direct Support Professional for New Horizon Resources for the past seven years. He was a loyal son, brother, proud uncle and friend to so many and will truly be missed.



In addition to his parents, Ryan is survived by his siblings, Kenneth Pommerencke and his wife Nicole, Randal Pommerencke and his wife Matsumi, Matthew Pommerencke,  Dylan Pommerencke and Emily Pommerencke; nieces, Bella and Paige; nephew, Mason; best friend and confidant, Erin Kowalewski as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.


Visiting will be held on Saturday, October 17th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm with a celebration of Ryan’s life beginning at 4:00 that afternoon at Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson, 30 42nd. St., Kerhonkson. Due to occupancy guidelines put forth by the NYSDOH there may be a wait to enter the building. All visitors must wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines. Very sorry to hear of Ryan's passing he was part of a very loving family, always was easy to see how much you care for one another, and this is what will get you through this sad time. Our deepest condolences, take care of each other, the Kreuter family.

Ryan was a wonderful young man, he was loving and caring and was a pleasure to know. The Thiel family extends their deepest condolences in this time of loss. Ryan will be deeply missed, and all who knew him have lost a gentle giant who touched so many in so short a time.
