Verna M. Barringer

Verna Mae Barringer, of Krumville, NY passed away September 20th at the Tenbroeck Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Lake Katrine, NY, with family by her side. She was 103 years old. Born in Krumville on March 6, 1922, to parents Flossie Trowbridge and George Wager, she was a lifelong resident of the area and long-time employee of Imperial Schrade in Ellenville.

Verna led a life of kindness and giving to others. She was a great lover of the outdoors, took great pleasure working outside and always loved and enjoyed the company of her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pre-deceased by her husband, Claude; and sisters Elvira Van Aken and Alberta Barringer; she is survived by her nephew, Charles Van Aken (Lori) of Olive Bridge; nieces, Linda Rider (Dennis) of Stone Ridge, Dale (the late Barry) Gray of Krumville, Patricia Kelder of Kingston, Shirley Bluemle (Albert) of Amherst, NY.; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by her nephew, Craig Barringer.

Visitation will be at Humiston Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25 from 4 - 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at Humiston Funeral Home at 10 am on Friday, September 25th, followed by burial at Palentown Cemetery.
