Virginia Barringer

Virginia Ann Barringer, of Kerhonkson, NY, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 10, 1974, in Kingston, NY, to Lawrence R. Sutton and Dorine (Shuman) Lezer. She was also cared for by her stepfather Charles M. Orr.

Virginia was married to Brett W. Barringer Sr. Together, they raised a beautiful family including Skylar Barringer, Dartanian Barringer, Megan Avery, David Avery Jr, Brett Barringer Jr, Brittany Ames, Ryan Barringer, and Victoria Barringer. Her role as a mother extended beyond her own children as she embraced and nurtured anyone who walked through her door.

She cherished the moments spent on long motorcycle rides with her husband and had a passion for collecting jingle bells, scarecrows, and frogs. Virginia adored family holidays and the joy of creating memorable moments with her loved ones.

In her professional life, Virginia worked as an assistant manager at Dollar General in Kerhonkson. She excelled in her role and touched the lives of those she worked with.

Virginia is survived by four grandsons and two granddaughters who will always carry her memory with them. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Stacey Tyler, Anne Harbeck and Lawrence R. Sutton, Jr.

Her warm spirit and kindness also extended to her ten nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her niece and by her sister, Jennifer Hermance.

The memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 9:00am to 1:00pm with a service beginning at 12 noon at Humiston Funeral Home, Kerhonkson.
