Wasyl Dudynsky

March 20, 1921 — February 2, 2011

Wasyl Dudynsky of Kerhonkson, NY, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Kingston Hospital. He was 89. Mr. Dudynsky was born on March 20, 1921 in Zapaliw, Ukraine, the son of Maria and Damian Dudynsky and the widower of Osypa (Kril) Dudynsky.

 

Wasyl immigrated to the United States from Germany with his wife and daughter in 1949. He worked as a Chauffeur and was Chairman of the Board for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. Mr. Dudynsky was a communicant of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Kerhonkson.

 

Wasyl is survived by his children Alexandra A. Handzy of Union, NJ and Orest W. and his wife Barbara J. of Bridgewater, NJ, his grandsons Damian and his wife Renata, Nestor and Andrew Dudynsky and his great-grandchildren Matthew, Stephan and Sofia.

 

Wasyl was predeceased by his son-in-law Dr. Jerry Handzy and his brother Nikoli Dudynsky.

 

Visiting will be held on Friday, February 4th from 5-7pm at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd St., Kerhonkson. Panakhyda will begin at 6pm that evening. The Holy Sacrifice of the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, February 5th at 10am at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Kerhonkson. Burial will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery, Hamptonburgh, NY.
