Yuriy LeshchukYuriy Leshchuk of Kerhonkson, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2012 at his home. He was 26 years old. Born on April 15, 1985 in Ukraine; the son of Yevheniya Khomanchuk and the late Vladymir Leshchuk.
Yuriy came to the United States in 2000. He graduated from Rondout Valley High School and from Ulster County Community College. He furthered his education at SUNY New Paltz graduating with high honors in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts. While attending college Yuriy assisted in the production of the documentary, The Battle of Stalingrad which aired on PBS. His passion in life was to pursue a career in Video Productions.
Yuriy had a thirst for knowledge. He was an accomplished pianist and was fluent in 5 languages. He liked to play soccer and appreciated nature and all living creatures. He enjoyed communicating with his many colleagues and friends that he made on Facebook both locally and internationally.
In addition to his mother of Kerhonkson, Yuriy is survived by his brother Roman and his family along with many extended family members in Ukraine.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, January 8th at Soyuzivka, on Foordmore Rd. in Kerhonkson.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I was in the same program as Yuriy at Suny New Paltz. He was a great guy and very talented. My prayers go out to your family.
