Raymond Rosenburg

November 17, 1947 — April 5, 2021

Raymond A. Rosenburg, of Stone Ridge, NY, unexpectedly passed away from a stroke on April 5, 2021. He is survived by wife Christine (Marquardt) Rosenburg, brother Ronald (and Gini) Rosenburg, and beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Born in Manhattan NYC, Raymond was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Winkle) Rosenburg. He graduated from Samuel Gompers Technical and Vocational High School and afterwards went on to study auto mechanics. He then later worked as a corrections officer in the states of New York and Florida.
Raymond also proudly served as a medic and a helicopter mechanic for the U.S. Army for many years, serving both domestically and internationally. After his honorable discharge from the army, he earned an Associate of Arts from Polk Community College in Winter Haven, Florida in 1997 and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from University of South Florida in Tampa in 1999. While going to school, he worked for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and as a substitute teacher in the Polk County public school system where he met his wife Christine.
Raymond and Christine moved from Florida to New York in 1999 and married in Christine’s hometown of Pottstown, PA. They shared a mutual love of animals, and in their 21 years of marriage, offered a forever home to numerous shelter/rescue animals. Raymond had a special affinity for cats, and they in turn were especially drawn to him. He also loved watching all types of wildlife and was delighted by the array of birds that flocked to his bird feeders.
Raymond’s hobbies included boating and woodworking. His current project was building a small wooden boat, which he nearly completed. He enjoyed watching classic movies and entertaining others with magic tricks, jokes and stories. He was a large presence and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
